I have a Philips DVD718 player bought in 2000. My player has already been modified to play all region.
Recently I travelled to South East Asia and bought some DVD movies. However, these movies (most of them) can't be played back in my player. The machine seems to try to read and read and read and finally eject the tray out.
After talking with friends, they told me that the DVD movies might be a pirated version, but the funny thing is these DVD can be played back on my friends player without any trouble.
Is there anyway to make my player work? Will a firmware upgrade do the job? I'm afraid that firmware upgrade will reset my multi region.
Thanks
