  1. I'm running into a macrovision problem last night when I'm trying to capture some old VHS. How do I get rid of this problem? I have Canopus ADVC-100. Is it true that if I hold the input button for 20 secs and it will do the trick? Please advise.

  2. Yes, that has been my experience. There is a thread here somewhere on this topic, I will search and get back with you momentarily.
Just what is this reality thing anyway?

I've had my ADVC-100 for about 6 months now, love it, does a good job with macro-vision. I've been able to backup and clean up some of my older VHS tapes.

    yenly,
as you didn't say where you're from i will wildly assume you're from america, thus using NTSC, so the hack will work fine. i'll just point out the macro hack for the ADVC-100 does not work on PAL signals.

    Hi,

I've heard conflicting stories about this. But my ADVC-100 does work with Macrovision protected PAL sources. I've captured a protected PAL VHS tape using the ADVC-100's Macrovision defeat feature.

I've never seen any previous models of the 100 to compare mine with. I can only say that I bought mine a couple of months ago.

Actually, it's more like 16 seconds, but you want to give other devices a
few seconds leayway, cause not all device R created equal

But, this is truely the best device out their today.. bar none.
If I had this device 2 years ago, when I started out ths video embarkment,
I'da ben crowned king here (just kidding) hehe..
