  2. I've been using them and they seem to work just fine.... no coasters with my Optorite drive (amazingly).

I bought mine at Office Depot and they were 2.4x, not 4x media.

Don't think you can go wrong with brand name media at just over a buck apiece....

    Good luck,

    Tim

  3. Thanks for the heads up. Just went & picked up 50 Philips DVD R 2.4 for $49.12 with tax. Had a $15 coupon for over a $50 purchase. The local store I went to used the coupon code number I got from http://www.bensbargains.net/ for the $15. Under a buck a piece for these is a sweet deal.

My knowledge is limited but for the 100 or so dvd's I have backed up these are the only ones I have never had one problem with.

I think these are in store only.

@tompika, if you check out this post and look at where it talks about "CMC" MANUFACTURED disks...and then "PHILIPS" ...you'll see why you can't just look at the media id of a company like CMC and assume that they aren't good or that another brand is better. As High quality as Ricoh disks are....the Philips "CMC" have better numbers then do Ricoh's. I've read occasionally where some has had issues with certain Ricoh media....but that is a rarety. I have not, however, read a person who had any issues with the CMC produced Philips disks...but I have read plenty of have had success. Considering the quality of this media, this is probably the best sale to date.

And I too, have never had a single problem with these Philips "CMC" manufactured disks. But CMC does have it's issues with a variety of other media it manufactures. But they don't have issues with the Philips...they have those down to a science. I did research on parity errors of different disks and the Philips disks had lower parity errors then even the MCC Verbatim disks. The MCC disks had nice results as well..but not as nice as the CMC manufactured Philips.

It's hard to believe but those Philips disks are some of the highest quality in the world. I still have yet to read a negative post on the Philips disks. Seems like everyone is not 99% but 100% with em'. Good to know if I ever need high quality media instantly.

  10. Hey mike83wvu,

How did you save the extra $15.00 - I looked at your link and could not find anything other than free shipping if you spend over $50.00?

I have burned about 50 of the Philips dvd +r's from Office Depot with no problems at all. It's a good deal - even better is you can get another $15.00 off!

  11. I just bought 100 more online, thought these were in store only but I guess not. Cannot seem to locate $15 off $50 coupon now but did use the over $100 coupon code of 85305243 for $20 off or there is also 92923224 for $15 off over $75.

Here is what I did. 1st search for item 881218 which is the Philips 25 pack. Go to checkout & apply the coupon for buy one get one free which is 52002322. Continue to checkout & it will also let you enter another coupon which for me was 85305243.

    Good luck!

Yep,..they sure are...and the Kprobe results prove that as well.

I honestly believe that Philips has very stringent criteria each of those CMC disks for Philips must meet. If CMC wants to keep Philips business, they better abide by that criteria. Seems like they're doing just that. Too bad we can't say the same for companies who sell out like Verbatim.

Anyway, just because these Philips were so good to me as well as others...i'm gonna grab a spindle as well. Even though I don't need media....media doesn't "expire"...so I have no worries. Anyone who got in on this deal..did themselves a favor.
