why black and white

can anyone tell me why a backed-up copy of a dvd movie only plays in black and white on my sons ps2 when two other movies I've had from the same source both play fine? any help would be most appreciated.

The disc that’s playing Black & white is an American NTSC disc the other discs are European PAL. It would play in colour if the colour out put from the playstation were set to RGB. But for movie playback SONY have disabled this to stop copying.

If you have a stand alone Dvd player you will have on problem playing them. I use both my self.
