  1. Hi. I was doing some research on printers that can print directly to printable DVD's, and it seems like the Epson 900 is what everybody is talking about.

I was just wondering if anybody knew of any alternative printers that performed this function as well. I'm interested in other retail models, not the thousands dollar custom printers available online. I'm not saying the Epson 900 is bad; I just want to look at all my options first.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I know there are probably many others, but all I can think of off hand is the Epson 950 or 960?

It is about $350 I think, but suposedly better quality printing and uses individual color tanks instead of one of those all colors in one tank setups plus black.

Depending on the amount of printing you plan to do and the amount of ink you'll be using it mght be a better deal, though $150-$200 more than the 900.

I haven't seen either in person, but I hear both are very good quality and the 950 being the best quality prints.

  3. Hi,
there are many brands and models such as EZ/CD Printer ($399), but all of them are much more expensive than Epson 900. I am interested to know If somebody knows any inkjet CD printer which is less than $199.

  4. I bought the EPson 900 through DELL for 149.00 with free shipping and no sell tax.

Call them and ask for a pricematched to Staples which is out of stock.
Then buy 15 memorex pritable cd-r for 15.00

    send a mail-in rebate of $30.00

    149.00 - 30.00 = 119.00 + (15.00 for memorex cd-r)

    Great deal.

  5. I use the casio cw-50 Disk Title printer. If you hunt around you can find it for $80 and $6/ribbon in quantities of 3. I like it so much I bought a second unit. It thermally prints on a cd or DVD. Though it can only print one color at a time you can change the ribbon in midstream with another color (black, red, blue.silver, gold) for a multi color effect. The lettering does not harm the cd/dvd or create any wobble.

  6. A4,
Staples website is showing the Epson 900 for $199.98. What are you talking about? Was there a sale on local stores?

  8. I have the Epson 900 and use cheap inks I buy online at $8 for color and about $4 for B&E. So far not one problem.
