Hey guys,
I have been pulling my hair out over this issue. It goes like this: I edited a vob from my hard drive with dvdshrink. I just wanted like a 10 minute clip. That worked great. Dvdshrink left me with a perfect 10 min vob. I demuxed with dvd decrypter to get the m2v file and the ac3 file. I tried to load both into Maestro, but of course I get the ever popular “media detection error” on the audio file. So after extensive forum searching I found out how great ac3fix was. So after finally getting that to work( yes I’m not good with command line stuff) I loaded the new ac3file into Maestro. After compiling, thinking I had solved the case, The audio was out of sync. The audio is dragging behind the video by about .5 sec. Any idea what caused this? I tried demuxing with vobrator with the same outcome. I also tried dvd2AVI to get the ac3 file. That also produced async. Just wondering if the ac3fix program messed it up or is it simply impossible to get perfect “cuts” of audio and video when dealing with any vob ( mpeg ) files? Am I missing something??
