  1. Hello all

When doing a capture sometimes the captured MPEG2-file goes over a certain limit (5.2 gb) according to MPG-VCR

If I try to author this file, my authoringSW (Moviefactory) wont handle the MPEG2-file correct(it to big, if the MPEG2-file is smaller then 5.2 Gb, after Authoring the file (making the TS-files) there is no problems of fitting this files on a DVD5)

I then have to cut the MPEG2-file before, to be able to import it into moviefactory to be able to place it on a DVD5.

Is there any SW that can remux a MPEG2-file direct (I know that you can remux TS-files to fit a DVD5) so it can fit a DVD5?

    Thanks

I'm not sure I understand your question. Remux means joining the elementary video and audio streams together, but it sounds like you think it means resize the files

I'm thinking the same thing. Look into TMPGEnc and what it can do for you. It can make your MPG2 files smaller.

  4. (Sorry) You are all correct.

The work im looking for is not Remux but rather Transcode a MPEG2-file to make it smaller (eg. not cutting the original MPEG2-file?

Can that be done by TMPGenc (or other SW) on a MPEG2-file?
