AVI to mpg to dvd.no sound???

Okay proper thicko here.someone is gonna tell me something im doing wrong that is so simple.just bought pioneer dvd/r.used TMPGEnc to change avi to mpg.then TMPGEnc Author to change to dvd format.but.....no sound ive done it with at least 5 different avi files but no sound files?????.im using nero 6 to burn dvd's.
please someone help before i throw dvd/r through window.

are you loading the avi into the audio part of TMPGENC.

Try this for avi's. download dvd2svcd, open the vcd template. change the type to avi, press go, come back in a few hours and burn the resulting mpeg using your favorite authoring program and enjoy.
