I have recently changed computers. So music that was on my old computer that I had uploaded from various CDs over time was written onto cds so that I could play them and upload them to my new XP computer. But it wont let me play any of them because it says I don't have a licence to do that! Any idea how I can get XP to stop looking for licences permanently?
Cheers

Don't use windows media, use mp3 or ogg! You're probably outta luck. That's what drm is for, to keep you from using them on other computers....

Ahh the world of M$. You can convert the songs to mp3 or another format on your old computer.

I had the same problem. I just formated my drive and put XP back on to realize that some of my .wma's wont work. So I was all mad and stuff, but then windows opened up an explorer window and asked if I wanted to carry over all of the liscences to this computer and then i just said ok and it worked. It poped up automatically so I dont know how to do it manually but I know there is a way. You could try going onto microsoft and searching for something like that. Sorry I couldnt be any more help, but anyway good luck.

use a 3rd party app to rip your cd's (I use AudioCatalyst).
