Vidac will be shipping several new MPeg encoder cards later this year. Initially scheduled to be shipped from the second quarter they will start shipping the new hardware in October due to a delay in chip production.
Vidac have developed a new MPeg encoder chip which they say produces even better quality output and does so faster than the current chip.
The new products include analogue cards with NTSC support and several DVB cards, DVB-S, DVB-T and DVD-C.
Besides the new hardware they will be releasing software for backing up DVD's.
