I rented this movie yesturday. Wow did it suck. I liked the mood and the look of the movie, but I just couldn't seem to get into the movie. I'm a huge horror movie fan, but felt disappointed with it. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think of the movie?

Really? I'd have to say that my two most favorite genres are Horror and Comedy. But if the film makers are good, they can mix the two, like Evil Dead.

  4. No. No. I do watch horror movies. It is just that I don't hunt specifically for those titles, unless everyone tells me that some xyz movie is watchable or even good.

I think that 'The Omen' and 'Damien - Omen II' were well made. 'Night of the Evil Dead' (the first one) was also good. Of recent, 'I know what you did ...' series was good.

I am just [i]not[i] very keen on horror.

I just bought The Omen on DVD. Good movie. The Ring was sweet! But I'd have to say that the Evil Dead series was the best horror series ever!

I agree with you.. I liked some of the look & feel of it, but overall it was some crap. It's basically every possible slasher-film cliche rolled into one movie.

Sid Haig was good, though. If you've never seen "Spider Baby", you should check that out, it was one of his first movies.

The movie overall just wasn't all the good. It seemed like one of the later Hellraiser movies. But then again, I really don't like movies that have much satanic themes.

Thanks man..I just rented it...haven't watched it yet...but if your such a horror fanatic then the movie probably does suck. I love horror movies too....they're my favorite type of movie....hey, not everyone can have such elegant taste in movies ya know. :P

But does that really shock anyone that this movie wouldn't be that good...I mean, look at the TOP 10 horror films of all time...none of them were made over the last 10 years or so.....it's obvious...horror movies just aren't what they used to be.

Hey, BTW....I was watching an interview with this guy talking to Jason and Freddy on the scene of the movie. He was asking them questions...and Freddy was just bustin' on Jason throughout the entire interview....it was funny.....Jason can't talk so he couldn't say anything....then the guy conducting the interview said that he believes that Freddy can kick Jason's ass any day of the week. So Jason gets up and hits the guy in the neck with his Machede. Man, it looked just like a movie..it was pretty damn funny.

I saw House of a 1k corpses.... Wish I hadn't... Dawn of the dead, Day of the Dead and Alien would be my fovorites. I know some people say Alien is more SciFi, But I think it's more horror/scifi... I remember seeing TX chainsaw massacre in a drive in and that was pretty good as well. As far as just plain scary movies go, I found "Seven" with Kevein Spacey as the pschyo pretty good. But I'm rambling.. Ramble ramble.....

Neither did I until I looked on the imdb. Luckily she doesn't talk like she did in the movie....nor does she like stabbing people and licking the knife like she did in the movie.

Did you add the extra ??? because you were wondering about why I put baby there??? If so, that was the character she played in the movie, I wasn't calling you baby.

  20. Loved it. As mad as cheese, just as I like horror. No where near as good as Evil Dead, Dawn Of The Dead etc but still thought it was an enjoyable hour and half.

The Spaulding character was great, especially putting his hands up and still managing to give "the bird" to the robbers

Ohh, that film scared the shit out of me when I was about 12. There were 3 or 4 of us round at a friends house, when he put a copy of the film on (Betamax from what I can remember), he also charged us 50 pence each. We then had to walk home in the dark, scary stuff.

  22. I haven't watched "House Of 1000 Corpses" yet but I will soon.

"Halloween" hit theatres when I was 12 and it TOTALLY fu**ed me up! I wouldn't (couldn't) sleep by myself for months... literally.

I can remember trying to sleep with my brother but being too scared because I was afraid Michael Myers had murderd him, took off his skin and was wearing it to fool me... (when I said it fu**ed me up I wasn't joking)

I was terrified every time the sun went down (that's not to say I wasn't scared during the day it was just worse at night)

I don't know how I finally got over it (or how long it took) but now I love horror movies and "Halloween" is one of my favorites.

I hated Halloween. I thought it was kinda dumb personally. But, and believe me when I say this, to each his own!

I guess some of the people in my generation reacted to "Halloween" the same way (or worse than) the people in a previous generation reacted to "Psycho"... in there time they were the scariest movies around.

"Halloween" was the first teen slasher movie... ever. People were yelling and screaming throughout the theatre (which only added to my terror)... we had never seen anything like it.

By todays standards I guess the movie is pretty bad but back then it was terrifying.

LMAO....Halloween was a helluva horror film....tgpo doesn't have good taste in horror films but we won't hold that against him.

Man, that music is the best from an horror film too...when that piano kicks in and gets deeper....SHIIITT....... na na na na na na na na naaa naaa naaa naaa naaa naaa naaaa naaaaaa ....DOOOOMMMMMM ....that bass starts kickin in and you know someone is about to go out. lmao

Yep..one of my all time favorites. I will agree with tgpo and say that Halloween H20 and Resurrection were stupid...but part I and II are classics.

Although it is probably considered science fiction more than horror, I liked the Alien anthology. That Ripley character was my kind of woman!

  29. All I can say is UNREAL. I hadn't watched a movie this week and wanted to watch one before I go out tonight...so I figured...what the hell...let me throw in House of 1000 corpses...I rented it a few days ago and it's a weekly rental.

If I said this was the absolute WORST movie I've EVER SEEN....that may be an understatement. I'm not exaggerating.....this movie was just ridiculous. I honestly think anybody who has this movie in their collection.....really has bad taste in movies. For those who hoard movies....I feel sorry for you. How the hell Hollywood could put out crap like this is beyond me. This movie was dumber then Jeepers Creepers, and I just saw a commercial that JEEPERS CREEPERS 2 is comin' out. WTF??? How is that possible.....my goodness...It really is sad people are payin' money to see and own these kind of movies.

But as dumb as Jeepers Creepers was.....this movie takes the cake. The best part of the movie was when they showed the crack of psycho girls ass. Damn she was crazy as a mofo...but....

Even if someone gave me that movie I'd get rid of it....damn.....I wouldn't watch that movie again if Dr. Satan himself had me tied up and forced me to.

Thanks for the heads up TGPO..unfortunately I rented it prior to reading your post....I really can't believe a movie could be that shitty...and at the end the movie said...THE END WITH A FU**IN question mark ??????

THE END? WTF is that...I KNOW they aren't even REMOTELY considering a sequel....if they do...I may just have to pick up another hobby........DAMN MAN...I COULD FILM A SCARIER MOVIE IN MY BACK YARD...WHO GETS PAID OFF THIS CRAP??

That movie was so crappy there should be a class action law suit against the director's/producers for the time people wasted watching that movie...and the money they paid to rent it or see it in the theater. I really believe people should get their $5-10 back on that crap....wow....that movie really does warrant a class action law suit...that's how shitty it was.

    I tried.

I guess the reason I didn't like Halloween was because it seemed like your ordinary everyday person was the killer, which would freak a lot of people out, but for me it gave a weakness to Michael that others such as Freddy or 'The Force' in Evil Dead didn't have. Plus the fact that Michael stabbed a guy with a kitchen knife in the gut into the wall and it held the guy off the ground, that also took away from it.
