  1. Did an update tonite and found the Besweet AC3 option gone - this is also indicated on main site

Why is it gone?, as it seemed to work well and is much quicker than SoftEncode

Havent used the prog for a few weeks, but I notice that the 2-pass option for MPEG audio is also gone - I thought this was supposed to be the best way to get guaranteed quality with MPEG audio

    Any comments?

I have been asked to remove all use of BeSweet from SVCD2DVDMPG by the author of BeSweet. I have complied. The result is that mpeg audio is now always "2 pass" and so no quality loss should be experienced due to the change. The mpeg audio encode is noticably slower than before but i am working on that. Obviously the only AC3 option now is SoftEncode.

  3. Thanks for replies

Is there any way to go back to an earlier version, if I use the auto update?

Unfortunately I use the autoupdate function, as such I dont have a copy of the previous files (all overwritten, I think)

I gave soft-encode 1 try last nite, but program choked on the soft encode portion - will need to read a bit more on this

The slowness of the new encoder has been resolved. So just to reiterate. mpeg audio encoding is now 2 pass and that will lead to a slight increase in duration over 1 pass in the previous version (but not x2!!). It has virtually the same encoding quality & speed as the 2 pass method in the previous version.

A speed diference has been noticed

Previous versions from ripping Bin files to finish was around 25 mins
It now takes 4 1/2 hours...

This is a MAJOR difference.... any updates coming to sort this out ?
