I am having an audio problem with my DVD. I use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make my DVDs and I use TMPGEnc to encode my avi files to MPEG2s. The audio problem is that the sound comes in great only through the TV. The audio that is sent to my Surround System (Onkyo Stereo) does not come in. All other DVDs work fine!! My DVD player is a Pioneer DV-C503. I don't know why the sound will not come in or what I need to do to make the sound at least go to my system in Stereo.... any help would be great.......thanks!

Hmm? My first thought is that your DVD player doesn't like the mp2 audio (produced by TMPGEnc when it encodes MPEGs). You might want to demux your current MPEG2 file, and re-encode the audio as ac3 then author your DVD.

I had the exact same problem, i've no idea if it's specific to make of DVD or to do with TMPEGEnc DVD author, anyway to get sound through your home cinema amp you need to change the audio settings on your DVD player to output PCM not BITSTREAM. This is a pain, which is why I now use BeSweet to encode the audio to AC3 (surround) and it works perfectly, outputting a standard Bitstream signal to my Yamaha Home Cineam amp

- does your dvd player connected only by a digital cable to your receiver, if yes, the analog mpeg audio won't play, try to connect simple stereo RCAs too, so the analog audio can go through
