LG 4040B a burner to have?

I need som info and help. I have a Toshiba 220e dvd player and i'm about to buy LG 4040B dvd writer, any 1 know wich media i should buy for the dvd writer that also works on my dvd player?

I'm not familiar with the LG 4040B dvd writer, but if I were in your place I would first try and look up the DVD player, and see if it plays +R or -R media. In fact, I think a list is maintained on this web site If the LG 4040B is indeed a dual format writer (not familiar with this drive) you have more flexibility in this case. As always, you can always buy a small quantity of discs to test them before you dive into buying bulk recordables.

I looked up your drive on the DVD Players List (on the left menu bar, under Other / DVD Players) and these are the specs. Your standalone player should have no trouble reading either +R and -R.

How much are you gettin that LG Writer for?

I live in sweden so i'll get it for about 2000:- wich is about 240$...and yess my dvd player supports dvdr+ and -, but i havent tryed any media on it that's the prob

I was also reading about the writer and it has supprt for dvdr+- rw+- and rom, 4xdvdr+-, 2.4dvdrw- and 2x dvdrw+, quite good speed.

I so far like this drive quite well. One complaint is the Legacy DVD-RW don't really work. Legacy DVD-R and DVD+RW work great though.

YES!
Burns DVD+-R(W),-RAM,16x CD-RW. Quiet and cheap.
I got mine for about $220. If you still have any doubts, do a Google search on the drive and read some reviews.
