what is my best choice/best quality and fastest export for a movie in imovie. it is about 7 hours now! I want to try to put the entire length on a single DVD (willing to accept quality loss) idvd will not let me do anyhting onger than 1.5 hours. But I want it to play in a normal dvd player
any suggestions?
I do have Toast if it helps
thanks guys

(1) imovie3 has a "reference" movie that imovie uses and other mpeg encoders can probably use too -- but not bitvice, ime. i get bitvice to work by . . .
(2) exporting the movie from imovie. i choose export -> for quicktime and select "full dv" as my quality setting. you can also choose export for idvd -- same thing afaik. however, it sounds like you are . . .
(3) trying to encode the movie to make it "fit" in idvd. that won't work. encoding the movie to a "smaller" format will not change its length -- which is what idvd uses. 90 minutes is 90 minutes regarless of your mode of export. thus, you can . . .
(4) either (a) cut you movie to 90 min and use idvd per above or (b) keep your movie at over 90 min, encode with bitvice (lite version $56 -- great quality!) or something else, author with sizzle or something else, and burn with Toast or something else. hth.
