I recent purchased a Pioneer 106 drive Whcih worked perfectly with Nero 5.5.10.42 with pink coloured Arita 2.4 DVD+r media.

Thinking I was buying the same product I then bought 200 DVDs but they were un-named silver DVD labeled DVD+r 2.4 on the box. After failing to burn with Nero which until now had never failed I let Instant Copy do the burning which worked. It worked a little too well because it was obviously burning at 4 speed. I then tried a trial version of Stomp RecordNow Max 4.5 which worked but again was obvliously buring at 4X (on minimum reord setting)

I tried buring with Nero at 4 speed but failed with same errors; either power calibration error message or completes but disk is unreadable. I have also upgraded the firmware on the drive but this did not have any effect either.

Does anybody now how to force Instant Copy & Record Now to burn no faster than 2.4 speed?

Also can anybody explain what is happening?
