Does anyone know how to successfully join SVCD mpeg movie halves (WITHOUT LOSING SOUND OR SYNC) to record on DVDR so that it plays as one whole movie? I've tried joining them with a program called "AVI MPEG RM Joiner", which actually does a GREAT job of joining the movie halves, BUT......when you make the new joined file DVD compliant, then author it and burn it, when the movie plays up to the joined part, all of the movie after the joined part has no sound. I've tried joining the files first, then making them compliant, and I've also tried making them complaint as halves, then joining them after they were DVD compliant. Neither way worked. If anyone knows how to do this successfully, any help would be appreciated.

  2. The easiest way would be to author both halves to dvdr with TMPGEnc DVD Author and select "play all" when the menu is onscreen. By making compliant I assume you mean using SVCD2DVDMPG on the audio and patching headers. Joining afterwards definately doesnt work but joining prior to making compliant should although if your halves overlap (as most do) you could get out of sync. Surest method would be to join (check the created file plays and is in sync beyond the join) and then re-encode with the normal TMPGEnc program. You would take a hit in quality but as you end up with one file there shouldnt be any more authoring problems.
