  1. Does anybody know of any other authoring?burning programs that will let you take a Singe mpeg2 dvdcompliant file that is in NTSC film 23fps and will author it into a proper dvd without trying to change the FPS second rate during the author .

The only two i can get to work is Sonic MyDVD which is not user friendly and when it comes to making menus etc
and the other is Ulead DVD Workshop which is easy to use but very expensive to buy and there appear to be no cracked versions around anywhere.

I dont want to have to author as pal cos the dropped frames makes things to awful to watch ? Can anybody help or offer an alternative ?

You need to set the field repeat flags to get your video to 29.97fps. Do this with PULLDOWN.EXE.

This should be invisible to your authoring program (your video will be marked as 29.97fps).

23.976fps is not DVD compliant. It is only supported internally, meaning that you can encode at 23.976fps but it must be played back at 29.97fps, and the only way to do this, within spec, is to add a 2:3 pulldown flag to your mpeg2 video stream. You can do this with pulldown.exe, and I recommend getting the gui to make things simpler. Just add the pulldown flags and pretty much any dvd authoring software should essentially treat it just like if it were 29.97fps. If dvd authoring software accepted 23.976fps material without the pulldown flag than that would actually be a bad thing, because the resulting disk would not play on most dvd players.

BTW: Its generally not a good idea to admit that you would consider using cracked software on a forum which has a no warez policy.

Yes, you can set this flag in TMPGEnc while encoding. Click Setting and look on the Video tab. Set the encode mode to "3:2 pulldown while playback."

Or you can just use pulldown.exe after encoding.
