I have a slow pc that i do all my messing around on so it takes me like 16 hrs to do a dvd2svcd so i was wondering if the following is possible
I am gonna be doing some dvd2svcd conversions and each one will end up as 2 disc SVCD mpegs so what i wanna know is it possible to convert like the 1st half of a dvd 2 svcd like overnight then the next night i convert the 1nd half of the dvd that way i dont have to do 16hrs f encoding at once
If there is a way to encode 1/2 one night and 1/2 another night please let me know so this will allow me to do all my encoding at night time while i sleep so i dont hog the cpu for 16 straight hours
Thanx

No. Go on with the 16 hours or remove some extras, just rip the movie so it will be a bit faster. Because on DVD one file for every extras and one file for the entire movie.

yes you can.it depends on which program to use.flaskmpeg and TMPGEnc are two that i know you can.i dont rip to svcd so i dont know what the best program is.
one problem might be is finding the right cut point so you dont get one cd to big. -
i figured it out i just used the start/end feature that DVDShrink ofers
Now i will just convert over the next couple nights and everything should be ok -
If for some reason you didn't want to use DVD Shrink, you could run Chapter extractor, find which chapter end is half way, and rip using Smartripper using output type as chapter only selecting the chapters you want for whichever half.
