Greetings,
I have a Hyundai HDP 550S DVD player connected to an Onkyo TXSR-600 AV receiver. Occasionally, when certain sounds occur on some DVDs, the Onkyo will reset, and when you turn the Onkyo back on, the word "protection" scrolls across the display before it resumes operation. I am assuming this is because of the input signal being sent to the optical input from the Hyundai. The problem is sometimes repeatable with the same disk scene and sometimes not.
I wonder if it's a problem with my el-cheapo Hyundai DVD player transmitting incorrect AC-3 signals or if the Onkyo is just flaky?
The problem is that I started using them both at about the same time, so I have no history of using the Onkyo with any other DVD player.
Has anybody else had any similar experiences with any of this equipment, or any other equipment for that matter?
I know, I know. I should buy a decent DVD player anyway, and I will. But I really don't think I need to if the Onkyo is just too sensitive.
