ok i think u have a slight confusion here m8 how much memory do u have cos i dont recall a mobo that supports 16 gig yet i think you either have 16 meg memory or 16 gig hard drive space if you have only 16 meg memory then yes you will struggle with burn outs plz confirm what you have
whats that your reading hope its work (s**t caught again) -
Your P3 will work OK, but you need a bigger harddrive and at least 256MB memory. It depends on what you want to do. If it's to cap video or encode video, your P3 will be very slow. I would start with a 60-80GB harddrive (Look for one on sale) and upgrade your memory. You probably use PC133 memory, it's inexpensive right now. You should be able to use the memory and the harddrive in a new setup if you want to upgrade your system in the future.

Ok I got one computer with 16 gig and the other only has 14. gig. I want to back up my own dvds cause my nephew really scratch them up! So I need to upgrade it to what? to a pentium or celeron 1400?? More??
Thanks in advance! -
Check my computer specs. I have a 733-MHz PIII. I've had no problem backing up my DVDs, capturing video from my DV camera, editing, authoring, burning and making my own home DVDs. I also have a TV tuner card that I use to capture cartoons off of PBS and Nick Jr. for my 2 1/2 year old son to watch. So, your 733-MHz PIII should be just fine. However, you'll need more, much more hard-drive and RAM. I have a total of 225-GB (3 hard drives), which stays around 70% full. I also have 512-MB of PC133 memory. So if you want to save money and use your current system you'll could buy a 120-GB hard-drive for around $100 and 256 MB of RAM for $30 to $40. So for less than $150 you could turn your 733-MHz computer into a DVD backup and Video editing machine. Also, you'll probably need some software. If you take advantage of the great freeware that's out there and deals on ebay you can get by cheap here.
