DVD backup question

I am new to this so take it easy on me. I was wondering if someone knew the answer to this one. I used dvddecrypter, DVD2ONE, and Nero to backup one of my DVDs. The DVD-R played fine in my Panasonic and even in my PS2 but my Pioneer DV-250 (that has played everything I have thrown at it so far) says "can't play disc." The reason I find this strange is that the Pioneer will play DVD-Rs that I have authored myself (sister's wedding for example). Anyone have any suggestions as to why it will not play backups of my DVDs?

I don't know what UDF 1.02 or UDF 1.05 means. (
So far I have just ripped the DVD to a folder and then burned the folder.
I use Sonic to author and burn my own DVDs so I was wondering if the problem wasn't with Nero itself.

After you open NERO ditch the WIZARD (cancel)

NOW CHOOSE NEW
on the window in the center of the APP..on the left hand column choose DVD UDF

now select the TAB LABELLED UDF...

I never was successful using Nero, no matter what I tried. I just burned the same movie using CloneDVD and it worked flawlessly. Something seems amuck here. But I'm glad I finally got it to work.
