  1. OK, so I've read everything there is to read about shrinking or splittling, and have been entirely successful so far. However, I'd like to do the following, and will use the latest Led Zeppalin DVD as an example.

    1. Split the DVD's into 2, but provide the appropriate menu structure for disc 2 (audio options, scene secection etc) whilst leaving out the items contained on disc 1.

    2. Remove the menu items from disc 1 menu that apply to disc 2.

    3. Leave out some of the extras that I don't want and the relavent menu items without causing the DVD player to hunt for non-existant vobs.

Ideally I'd like to use only freeware tools (I'm as poor as a church mouse at the moment having bought a new burner this month). I am using dvddecrypter and ifoedit at the moment.

    Have you seen DVD FAB?
I used it to split the disc you have into 2 at original (clone) quality
however had the same problem as you.. The menu is only on one of the two resultant discs...

If you want to get it on one (not what you asked) but possible here
because there's so much sound on this disc..that is the sound is there 3 times..so discard AC3 5.1 and Ac3 stereo and a lot of room shows up.
Discard the DTS instead and almost no compression is needed
