    Hi,

What is the best method for changing the resolution of dvd's video stream?
As I see, Divx codec has a resize tool, but I couldn't find such a tool for other codecs like xvid and divx.
By Virtual Dub, it is possible to use a resize filter, but the quality decreases a lot.

So, I want to know the best method for resizing the video.
By the way, which algorithms is better: bilinear, bicubic or nearest neighbor?

    Thanks.

  2. VirtualDub's resize filter is about as good as any. Which filter mode did you use? Try Lanczos3 or Precise Bicubic.

The Divx codec has a built in resizer too. Try it's Lanczos4 mode.

Lanczos filters produce sharp results while minimizing moire artifacts.

My favorite resize filter is in AviDemux. Ignore the name...it handles almost any type of video.
