  1. Hey folks, check this:

I captured some video from Mini DV using Premiere and FireWire.
I loaded that DV into TMPGEnc Plus and tested next settings for PAL

Video CD PAL - CBR 1150 70min/650 MB - thats the default
DVD PAL Low Resolution - CBR 1850 165min/4.7GB
    Super VCD PAL-CBR 2520 35min/650MB
    DVD PAL - CBR 4000 100min/4,7GB

    RESULTS and Questions:

    1. DVD Pal Low resolution(1850kbs) is little better than Video CD PAL (1150 kbs) - how to burn this file on DVD using DVD Movie Factory, but to fit at least 120minutes. SInce the DVD PAL low Res. have only diference from VIDEO CD PAL in bit rate. is that DVD or VIDEO CD. I am confused, to burn on DVD as DVD and how, or to burn as VCD?

    2. DVD PAL is little more better than DVD PAL Low res. but it looks like there is no difference, for me, I can see a difference, but for other peoples, I dont believe. Question: Is it wiser then to capture an remiere via FireWire and convert with TMPGEnc in DVD PAL Low Res 352x288 or DVD PAL with 720x576 and waste more DVD space.

Does someone tried to bur DVD Low Res on DVD using Movie Factory 2? I cant find the settings. Thanks

well you dont know what to choose from, from high or very low, every thought about that middle subject, being CVD 352*576 look up on that i think it gives you good quality, and you can also fit more minutes than the dvd standard. you can probably put about 3 1/2 hours with good quality on a DVD. some of my movies are made on 2 cd-rs, while others are made on 3 cd-rs and well i can fit those 2 movies on a DVD-R/+R. the one on 3 cds is usually about 2 hours, and the one on 2 cds is usually around 90 minutes so add that and its 3 1/2 hours with great quality.

then in that case it will be a DVD, cause you cant burn vcd on a DVD-R. if your going to do that, you might wanna look at a program called (s)vcd2dvdmpg.
