HS2 DVD-RAM to PC DVD-R

Hello!

I have a Panasonic DMR-HS2 and I have recently purchased the LG Super Drive (which supports DVD+-R/W & DVD-RAM). I am trying to copy a DVD-RAM created on the HS2 to a DVD-R on the PC. I can't just burn the DVD-R from the HS2 b/c the DVD will not play right in my other DVD player, however a DVD burned from the PC plays fine.

I have been through the threads and this is the method I am using:

1) I copy the .VRO from the DVD-RAM disk to my hard drive
2) Re-name the .VRO file to .MPG
3) Using DVDLab, I demultiplexed the audio (in DVDLab) before inserting the video and audio into the "Movie Menu"
4) "Compiled the dvd"
5) Burn the DVD in DVDLab

When I do this, and play it in my DVD player the audio is out of sync. In step 3, I also tried to not demultiplex the audio, but then there was no sound at all.

Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Also, are there any other methods of copying DVD-RAM to a DVD-R where you don't have to re-encode?

I have a AMD 1.4G, 60GB Western Digital w/ Windows XP Prof. DVDLab Ver 1.1

To follow up with my post...

I played the .VRO from the DVD-RAM in PowerDVD and it played fine... no sync problems, BUT when I rename the .VRO file to .MPG or MPEG (Tried both ext's) the audio is out of sync in PowerDVD.

So, it would seem the problem doesn't lie with DVDLab.

Anyone know what would cause an out of sync issue by renaming the extension of the file? I read in prior posts that this method has worked for other people.

I found this on the WholeWideWeb website mentioned by Next...

"...Also important: If you did any trimming/shortening of your video, do NOT use the high-speed dubbing to copy to DVD-RAM. You need to force a re-encode in order for the MPEG2 stream to be "sealed" against future audio/video sync problems. I've tried using both XP and FR modes to copy to DVD-RAM and both work fine."

I can now copy my DVD-RAM's to the PC and burn to DVD-R and they play fine on both of my DVD players.
