After capturing a vhs tape with virtualdub I found that my ATI AIW t.v. tuner no longer has audio capability, no playback/no record audio. complete removal of ATI software and reinstall (recomended by ATI Tech support)fixed nothing, even complete removal & upgrade to 8.5 version and I have received no reply to many followup emails to ATI "customer service". Everything else audio works even other software potions of the ATI software, the DVD, File Player, VCD Player, CD Player etc. There is also no audio from any new virtualdub captures.

First, see if you can capture using mono audio. Then, check you RECORDING audio.
Hello. -
Nope, I have no luck in mono either. I believe the problem may be in windows registry. I had the t.v. function on and was closing other programs, but not correctly and a windows fault (warning chime w/message) tried to sound but was distorted and had parts of the t.v. sound come through with it. Thoughts, anyone?

Go to your Sound Properties and ensure your RECORDING AUDIO is checked and at anacceptable level.

Got the problem fixed, sound is working, now all I need to do is get the audio and video in sync. Thank you for the help
