I have them both and I guess I don't see why you would ever need to use IC7 because DVDShrink does the same thing in half the time. Maybe I am missing something here?

IC7 will, in certain cases, produce superior quality output.
Especially, I think, on high-compression jobs.
My rule of thumb is:
Low compression (~10%): CloneDVD
Medium compression: DVD Shrink, or DVD2One
High compression: IC7, or re-encode

Ok thanks, I will have to test that out.
Makes sense now."Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore.

I agree with Gurm...for high compression jobs IC 7 is quite better than
Shrink, but needs more time. Another advantage ist: you can change more settings, for you personal preferences... -
gurm hit it on the nose
for dvds with less than 6.5 gigs of content
i use dvd shrink
dvds with more than 6.5 gigs
instant copy 7 -
Only things I'm not keen on with DVDShrink is that you can't remove titles (I know you can re-author but it's not the same thing) and that the compression levels are at 5% increments rather than 1% or greater.
