  1. what is the difference between making a dvd-vcd and making a vcd into a dvd
i ask this b/c this standalone does not support dvd-vcd or dvd-svcd
but it supports dvd-video on dvd+r disc
i have been reading the guides about this but i do not understand whats the difference if any
    ok here's the deal
i have a vcd file ok (mpeg1) and i want to put i onto a dvd+r in regular dvd format so that this dvd player will play it
to make it into a dvd-vcd (which again i do not want to do) the guides says to leave the video alone and just convert the audio from 44hz to 48 hz or something like that
b/c vcd resolution can be a standard dvd resolution
ok now but thats to make it a dvd-vcd
and if i want to make the vcd into dvd-video the guides says to encode the entire source file
but my question is if i encode the vcd into dvd-video like the guide says
    is that not a dvd-vcd
    could someone please help me
i want to fit about 4 hrs onto on dvd+r in regular dvd format not dvd-vcd

  2. vcd-dvd = mpeg1
Low resolution dvd (352x240 ntsc or 352x288 pal is the only format that would allow 4hrs on one dvd) = mpeg2
You need to re-encode to mpeg2.
