I have a friend who is doing real-time capturing (via the latest Phillips standalone unit) direct to DVD+RW. Since this is direct off-air, I'd very much like to keep the captures in this format, BUT... of course the main problem is that these captures included COMMERCIALS.So, I'm wondering - what is the easiest/quickest/best way to edit the commercials out of the existing DVD without having to re-encode or otherwise diminish the quality of the capture?
(FYI, I'd read on the DVD+RW advocacy page that it should be possible to re-author menus on an existing DVD without re-authoring the whole DVD, but I assumed that this would only apply to non-standalone burned DVDs)
Thanks for whatever help you can offer!

TMPGEnc DVD Author will import the movie files where they can be edited, have chapter points added, and re-authored without re-encoding.
You can use the template-generated menus or import the files in another authoring app of your choice.
