Basically, I have bought some CD-R 90 (800MB) discs.
I want to use the full capacity so that I can save more to the disc.
For instance, save an extra few minutes of SVCD.
I usually use VCDEasy to save to the CD.
However, all programs I have treat the CD as if it were a max of 700MB.
Any ideas?
Cheers

First and most important, make sure your cd-burner is compatable w/ 90 min discs.

It'll still be recognized as an 80-minute/700MB disc. You have to enable overburn, and just put 800MB data / 900MB video on it and it should work.

I think you mean 800mb data and 90 minutes video.Originally Posted by sterno

90 min infiniti disks will not give you 90 mins on all hardware, it all depends on your hardware.
For instance, a lite-on drive might give you 89.5 minutes whereas a Pioneer may only give you 86 mins.
I used Nero and successfully achieved 89-ish mins (using overburn).

No, I really did mean about 900MB video, which will be 90 minutes of standard VCD or CD audio. For XVCD or SVCD you can have more or less running time, but the limit is still going to be around 900MB (probably a little less because of the overhead in making the disc) for your source file. Since I rarely make standard VCDs or audio CDs I always think in terms of the file size(s).Originally Posted by Will Hay

It's been a while since I made anything other than dvd but I thought vcd was measured in minutes with regards capacity.
Thanks for putting me straight
