  1. Hi -
Having a heck of a time backing up the film Sneakers with Robert Redford.
Any ideas or has someone accomplished this successfully?
Tried all sorts of tricks. Copied all files to local folder. There is one particular vob file giving me fits. It is 1 GB in size, and DVD Backup doesn't recognize this file at all. It seems to hang up.
I tried all other files with exception of one that wouldn't work, but still no success.
Any ideas? Should I just give up?
By the way, I have used DVD Backup, DVD2OneX and Toast all successfully in backing up some 100 dvd's. I thought it to be strange, with an older dvd.
    I'm alsol using a G4.

    Thanks,
    Brian

I have backed up Sneakers very easily using DVD Decrypter. It was only a DVD-5 so it was a very simple process as i'm sure you already know since you've done so many backups. I notice you're using a mac and i don't know if there is a program like DVD Decrypter out there for mac but that's what worked for me and i didn't have any problems at all backing it up. Maybe try to back it up using a pc. decrypt it using decrypter and transfer it to your mac if possible for burning. other than that i can't really help...i just wanted to let you know that i didn't have any problems just incase that helped.

Yes, I was able to backup Sneakers with no problems, using DVD Extractor, back when I was doing things with that, in the OS 9 days.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

if its a dvd-5 then all you have to do is pull the VIDEO_TS folder to yoru HD, then burn it. Nothing fancy required unless you want to make it region free.

Try all the mac backup programs
    1. DVDBackup 1.3
    2. OSeX
    3. DVDExtractor (OS9 only)

  6. I had the same results as Brian!

If my memory recalls it is the VTS_01_03.VOB file that give me a fit? 1GB

    Hmmm, I finally gave up!

You say you tried ALL the programs to back up.

    Did you use DVD Extractor?
OS9 Only. it would be a last resort kind of one to do.
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/alternative_platforms/mac_software/dvd_extractor.cfm#download Thats the only place I know to get it. Just remember, you are not a US resident.

  8. I used only OS X utilities.

    I tried 0SEx 0.0110a1 and DVDBackup Version 1.3

I will try again someday with good old OS 9.
