I just finished watching the making of The Toxic Avenger 4, great making of, probably the best behind the scenes ever created for a movie! Has anyone else seen The Toxic Avenger? What did you think? Is anyone else into the Troma movies? Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?

I guess you'd have to be a Troma fan to understand the reference.

  5. He's referring to the Troma Studios movies. They are like bad, cheesy movies that are a somewhat cult icon.

This might explain it better: http://www.troma.com/index2.php3

My name is gll99 and I'm a Canadian (you will only understand the preceeding bold statement if you live here).

I live in monochrome Pleasantville with an occasional splash of vibrant color.

Yes, you're lucky and I rememebr a vacation at Cairns, North Queensland. Was sometime during July and very warm indeed. I remember relaxing on beach with a friend further north.

    Yes, certainly was beautiful.

  12. I have seen the toxic avenger (only the first one though), terrible film with cheap make up and effects. Some people seem to think that if a film is bad enough it somehow becomes good and has a cult following. Not me, to me a bad film is simply a bad film.

  17. It had it's moments, just very few of them.

The one that comes to mind is when they are going through the various theatres (i.e the porn theatre, kung-fu theatre).

Haven't seen any of his other movies I don't think.

You are correct. If you are looking for Toxicity & Avenging in your movie fare, then the Toxic Avenger is your best bet for T&A.

The first one was fun...I seem to remember there being two different versions of it when it was showin' on cable back in the day -- one with less gore, I think? I seem to remember a scene where someone got his head run over that was in one version and not the other? Do you remember this, tgpo?

Yeah dude, the head crushing scene. I have the Dicector's Cut DVD, and it includes the scene in whole. On the DVD they talk about how they had to do random edits to be accepted in foreign and domestic markets.

tgpo, if that sort of movie does it for you, then you MUST get hold of a movie called Bad Taste.

It was Peter Jackson's (Lord of the Rings) first film. It took him 4 years to make on a budget of nothing. In it he is: Producer, Director, Actor, Makeup Artist, and Writer.

It is bloody awful, which makes it a classic. You only need to read some reviews to confirm this.

It makes Troma movies look ordinary.

I've seen bad taste. It has an Alien flicking you off on the cover. Great Movie, but a later movie he did was much better. Dead Alive!! It was labeled as the gorest movie ever made. It Rocks!!

Don't tell me you even like Terror Toons? That was almost as bad as Toxic Avenger. Just something about a guy in a pink tutu that disturbs me.
