I can capture to Mpeg2 with the canopus advc-100 and was wondering if its worth the upgrade to have a capture card that has a hardware mpeg2 capture.

I know the canopus does not have the hardware mpeg2 capture and they look ok, but is it worth the money to buy a capture card that has hardware mpeg2 capturing?

Will save me a lot of time instead of capturing to avi and then reecncode to mpeg2
