Just out interest, who has been a registered member of this site the longest and still has an active account, moderators and creators of the site notwithstanding.

Probably someone who posted when the forum looked like this... (Aug 2000)

I think all the votes are in- the winner, by TKO is (drumroll) Baldrick!(applause)

I can vaguely remember that site outline but there was still 136 registered members of the site almost 3 years ago according to that screenshot. Thats pretty good but things sure have come a long way.

I was wondering about just normal members here trying to learn from scratch, not the moderators.

First look of this site in May 1999
https://www.videohelp.com/old/may1999.htm
By June of 1999 it progressed to this:
https://www.videohelp.com/old/june1999.htm
By aug. 1999 it was really rocking:

May 2000 - the site started to look almost like today in a way
https://www.videohelp.com/old/may2000.htm
couple of revamps throughout 2000 and early 2001
https://www.videohelp.com/old/august2000.htm
current look (with some further modifications) came about in sept through dec 2001

hmmm, I thought Vitualis is a moderator or was one at some time before.
I've never seen the 1999 site format before, but it still looks good in my opinion. -

More like no 7. The first 8 entries have an error where they have no joined date. I remember Baldrick saying this glitch may have happened when he changed forums.

Member #700 (or #692 if you dont count the first 8 )

It seems like as for still active members that SatStorm is the earliest next to Baldrick.

there should be some kind of time limit(say6months),whereby the user should have to make at least 1 post,or their membership gets deleted and they have to sign up again. this way the guys way down at the bottom gets to move up
-
Actually most forums do that. I'm not sure why we don't here.
-
I thought that we at one time lost all membership information - about the time the board had to shut down for a while.

I would be interested to see who has the most posts per day if thats possible....it'd be cool to see who the most active user is.

Is 61,000 members in 3 years a good amount for a site like this?
How does that compare to similar learning/info. forums? -
Tommyknocker and housepig i think are the highest per day - for people on the board more than 1 month
some post like 40 - 50 posts their first day ..
then have a gender change -

It didn't load for me either. I didn't start poking around here until late 2001/early 2002. So the site looked then pretty close to how it looks now.
