  1. Hi Guys, new member here. Hope you can help. Here's my problem:

    - Windows explorer crashes when I view a folder with videos in "thumbnail view". This doesnt seem to happen to older folders. Cant remember the time this first happened.
    - Read that one guy solved this problem by installing K-lite. I tried it and it didn't work for me. Uninstalled it and also tried VLC and KMPlayer. I also did the registry fix to enable flv, mp4 thumbnail views. Didn't work either.
    - I am now trying to re-install K-lite as the new 6.6.0 just went out. Cant install - Setup will exit. Run installer once you have uninstalled your current version of the pack...

Any suggestions? By the way, I also ran registry booster to fix reg problems. And ccleaner to cleanup...

    Thanks!

Have you tried disabling the thumbnail viewing in folders?

You might also try K-Lite's Codec Tweak Tool, to see if it detects and fixes any problems, since you've already installed their pack. But disabling the thumbnail viewing would be a good place to start.

  4. Okay, installed Media Player Classic Home Cinema v1.4.2499. No explorer errors/crashes it seems. But no thumbnails either...

  5. Thanks for the reply Ai Haibara!

I downloaded the tool and ran it as you recommended. I removed broken registry entries.

I've already uninstalled K-Lite before in the past. Then I tried reinstalling the newest version today but the installer wouldn't let me proceed, saying it's still installed(???). I guess there were remnants. Will try to install again now that I have cleared the registry of the broken coded entries...

  6. Still wont install...

Older folders with video are displaying thumbs with no problem. Those recently made are the problematic ones... I just cant see the sense...

  7. By the way. These are .flv and mp4 files, mostly. Youtube instructionals and stuff... In some folders, there will be those that display thumb correctly and some that dont. In the same folder... Really weird...
