  1. What's better in your opinions? a Radeon card in general, or a GeForce card... I'm looking between a XFX GeForce Ti 4200 8X 128MB and a Radeon 9600 Pro... any suggestions?

  2. u cant compare the names of the cards m8, u have to compare each card individually! both are very good, although i think GeForce have the edge on drivers.

check out tomshardwareguide or www.anandtech.com for hardware reviews!
1)Why Not Overclock a little?! speed 4 free!!!!
    2) If your question has anything to do with copying PS2/PC/XBox games, find a more appropriate website

get the Radeon 9600 that you mentioned... or any ATI 9000 series All in Wonder version, they are head and shoulders better than the Geforce 4200.... the 4200 is old, I believe they are already selling the 5600 and 5900 series now...

I have a 4200 in one of my systems and it is ok for surfing and video editing, but it is not a gaming card by any means nor does it have any capture capabilities...

Personally, I was checking out the ATI 9600, 9700 (i think), and the 9800 versions...

I have a GF4 TI 4200 and an Athlon 2.4+, no probs with gaming here, good fps smooth gameplay, the radeon is better/faster/(buggier) from what people say.

Do not belive the above poster that a GF4 is only good for surfing and video editing... the nvidia cards are sold as a 'gaming' cards, which im sure you know.

The 4200 is crap compared to the newer nvidia cards... it's older technology... if you want to get an nvidia, then at least look at the 5600Ultras... There is a WORLD of difference from the 4200...

I should have clarified what I said about the "not good for gaming" comment. It is ok for gaming, but you will get MUCH better performance from the 5600's or even the 4600's... I have nothing against the nvidia cards, and they are JUST as buggy as any ATI card is....

It is not AS good for gaming, but will get you through. In comparison to the ATI9600Pro that the original poster mentioned, it isn't even close to it.
The ATI9600Pro would blow the doors off the nvidia 4200....

Well a lot of it depends on the speed of your cpu as well, a crappy cpu and a good card is still gpoing to be crappy gameplay, a good cpu with a half decent card = good gameplay, then theres the price, pay out ridiculous amounts of cash for a card that will be surpassed in a couple of months... me i stay one step behind in gfx card technoligy, im not prepared to splash out hundreds of pounds for the latest all singing all dancing cards.

    Radeon.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
