Just curious because people have told me that you can damage your VCR or computer if they are to close (ex: VCR sitting on top of PC Box). Also someone said that your capture quality could be less. Are any of these points valid or is totally fine to put your VCR next to or on top of your PC?

    Thanks.

  2. Just a newbie's opinion, but:

    1) Could create electrical interference with VCR (probably shouldn't make much difference to your PC) such as noise when recording to your VCR caused by PC fans.
    2) Could create the possibility (slighty, not likely) of your tapes being magnetised (don't want that).
    3) Could overheat your PC or overheat your VCR and damage it, because, from what I know my VCR gets quite hot so you don't want to overheat your PC.

Please could a more experienced member correct me if I'm wrong?

Use good quality shielded cables and make sure that your power cables are well grounded. A VCR with a metal frame or good shielding could help to reduce potential interference. RF reception could be affected.

Only if you see a reason to do so. I have quite a few on the same desks as the computers. Each desk has at least two or three. Wires all over the place. Works fine.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

I currently have mine sitting on a box underneath my computer desk, but I was going to build/buy a little shelf or something that I could put over my computer. Thanks for the replies, I guess as long as it isn't right next to it, it won't be a problem.
