I understand I can burn a DVD's ISO directly to another DVD. But if I turn it into a mpeg, mpeg2, Divx, etc. and allow it to take up as much space as it requires, will it still diminish the quality?
Which format (mpeg, etc.) has the best quality when it's done?

If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.

an ISO is not a video format. It is a direct copy of a Disk (CD or DVD). Thus is includes header info, data, and anything on the disk. It would be a perfect copy.

I am aware of that. But if I were to take the VOB's from the ISO, then take the necessary steps to turn them into mpeg files, would they have the same quality if I allowed them to take up as much space as needed?
What video format is better? If everything is infinite then nothing is definite. -
VOB's are already mpeg files , what are you trying to do?
you can compress them more -- but then of courseyou will lose quality .. how mch depends on how much you compress, etc.
