Do a search for a program called DVDInfo, it will tell you that and a whole bunch of other things about your drive and media. Great program and it's freeware.
Your burner program can also give you info under drive properties. (nero and recordnow anyway) -
Simple.
Head to your Device manager and open '+CDROM'.......double click the drive in question and then onto settings. The firmware should be listed in the top-right. -
Can't find it. "The Edge", the firmware is not listed in the device manager. I only have a properties button and it has the windows drivers but no firmware. I have WinXP pro.
"Alexcue" I can't find this info in my burning programs either; Nero Express and Ulead Movie F2.
I will keep looking and maybe track down this DVDinfo program somewhere. -
I found it.
Start Menu - Program files - Accessories - System Tools - System information.
Then open Components and CD-ROM.
There is nothing that says "firmware" but its within the PNP Device ID brand name and serial numbers.
My firmware is 1.05.
