  1. I have an APEX AD-1500. It pretty much plays whatever I put into it. I have noticed however that on some CDs that I've burned that if the movie spans to a second CD that the 2nd CD will have problems towards the end of the movie. I get the occassional picture freeze, electronic bitmapping and sometimes an erratic picture. The sound will occassionally continue on or drop out. I've encountered the problem before with a CD that a friend burned for me. In that case it turned out that it was the type of CD she used. Once she switched over to a different brand problem was solved. Is there a brand CD-Rs that works better than others for burning MPGs? I've played the MPGs that the problematic CD was made with and encountered none of the same problems. So either it's the burning process (Nero) or the media (CD-R) itself. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  2. Actually there are no CDR's that a better for MPG. If it stinks for mpg, chances are it will have issues with data also. I had a batch of cdrs that had the same problem with the video. When I used it for data, it would take extremely long to read when the data was near the end. If you want to ensure the best quality, buy brand name, TDK, Fuji, Sony, etc. Stay away from imation and optimum though.

  3. Thanks for the info. I had heard that a overheating problem might be part of the problem with the APEX AD-1500. I had tried at one point taking the CD out and cooling it off over the A/C vent and it seemed to do ok for awhile. Might try one of the name brand CD-Rs and see if I have the same issues with the playback.
