  1. Hello,

    I need your help.
I'm looking for a program which can convert files in ASF format to MPG. I've tried VirtualDub but it's unable to open ASF files because of Microsoft's copyrights or something, I've also tried TMPGEnc, this program has worked fine for me in the past but now when I'm trying to convert I get only the sound and gray screen.. It's important, please help !

    Thanks
    Danny

What do you mean? What happened when you tried to repair the file with ASFTools?

I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Information has to flow both ways. Two people have told you adjust the Direct Show priority in TMPGEnc, but you have not responded to whether or not you did and what happened.

    1.3c doesn't work with WMV 8/9 files.

Go to digital-digest.com and look under ASF. There's a reall good tool for converting ASF/WMV to AVI. It deals with the variable framerate issue pretty well, but sound can be tricky. When done you will have an AVI with the M$ codecs, from there you can convert it in TMPG. Haven't found one yet I couldn't convert! (WMP doesn't like the resulting AVI....use something else to view them).
