  2. I don't think there's a truly bad DVD burner out there. You should consider a dual-format if one is available.

    Best bang for your buck is the NEC ND-1300A

    I got one and I love it.

    It is generally considered to be as good as the PIONEER and SONY DVD burners but it is cheaper.

    However some say that it doesn't like the really cheap media but you should realize now that DVD media is a BIG issue and you need to be carefull anyways as to what brand you buy etc.

    I agree with FulciLives - ND1300-A is the cheapest dual format writer here in Sweden, and my first experiences with it (using both Windoze and Linux tools) are nothing but sheer delight.
