  1. I notice Hypermicro now lists Lead Data 4x dvd-r and the price looks reasonable. The 1X Lead's worked well for me on my Pioneer A05 so I am wondering about the 4x'ers.

  2. solid disks...do a search on this forum. Problem with the 4x disks is that they are NOT true 4x. They will burn randomly @4x, but most of the time the speed will drop to 2x. Also, burning disks such as this @4x can cause other issues. Your better off getting the 4x Optodisk or 4x BEALL. Those are the only two i've tested from any of the online stores which are TRUE 4X. Meaning...they will burn consistently @ 4x. You can also get the Memorex 4x DVD+R from Best Buy....they have a nice sale on those now...or the TDK 4X DVD disks.

  4. @lordsmurf, when you say you've had MOST of your LEAD DATA disks go bad, i'm just curious as to what you mean? Do you mean they've gone bad over time or were just bad from the beginning? I too have noticed that LD just aren't as high of quality as other disks manufactured and their ACCU disks weren't nearly the quality as the Sony ACCU's..however, they were still solid with info under 4 GB's. Problem is that for the people constantly pushing the 4 GB mark and more...they may have a standalone player making the corrections....when they need a new standalone or are playng movies elsewhere...that's when they'll experience the problems.

Anyway, let me know what issues you've had with those disks..and where you purchased them..and what name were the disks being sold under...i'm just curious..thanks

I have a whole bunch of stuff burned on Leda 1x discs and they still work fine for me (knock on wood) and its been almost a year. However, a friend of mine is having some problems with his Leda disks. Some of his still work, but on others some files are unreadable. It could be because he put labels on them.
