  1. I've been trying to do this DVD but am running into problems.

I open it up in DVD Shrink and it shows the movie itself is 6.5 gigs. When I look at reauthoring it shows a second angle. There is a French and an English version, but these aren't listed as subtitles or second audio tracks. It seems as if there are two seperate copies of the film (hence the 6.5 gigs) for French and English.

Anyone have any idea how I can extract only the English version. I really don't want to compress the video.

Start by ripping only the 1st angle and see if this is the one you want to keep. If there really are two versions, then there has to be two audio tracks. Unless, they simply tacked one version at the end of the other, and access them by chapters (a really stupid method!).

Oh, and I thought that you were ripping on our Adam (who is a general, all around good guy)!

  3. hahaha....I actaully learned quite a bit about the member Adam when I did a serch of the forums for About Adam.

Actually it's really wierd. DVD Shrink is only able to see the second angle when I go into reauthor mode. It then shows title 1 as 6476MB and title 1 angle 2 as 6466MB.

I've never seen a disc laid out like it.

You might what to try IFOEdit to see if you can strip out that other angle/soundtrack/subtitles to see if you can get everything below the single disk level.

  5. Yeah, what that is, are the credits are in french
for those canadians up north, no big deal, either
way. if ur really worried about it, use dvd2one,
it handlles the 2 angle problem, many dvds are
doing that now, like die another day, crossroads
    pulp fiction too...

  6. OK, I see. So there is about 10 megs of titles that are in French and the movie alone actually is 6.5 gigs. Makes sense. 6.5 just seems large to me.

    Thanks

  7. The studios just seem to keep finding ways
to mess up our backups, Warner Bros likes
to out the trailers incorporated into the
main movie vob's, so if you go movie-only
trailer plays w/o audio then the film plays
fine, what a bugger, use ifoedit to fix
    that problem....hohoho

Yeah I ran into two of those so I just used DVDshrink to crop out the trailers and that worked for me.
