I had a TYAN motherboard and dual Athlon 1333. No problems with my Plextor 40/12/40 and Pioneer 104 and burning discs at 40X.
Then upgraded to Athlon 2400 MP and had to et a new motherboard. Picked the MSI K7D Master. Feel really fucked.
Have my Plextor as primery on the secondary IDE channel and the Pioneer as secondary. Can enable DMA on my Pioneer, but only PIO on my Plextor. If I enable DMA on my Pioneer I get write error. In PIO modus if writes without problems on 1X.
My Plextor drive can now only write in 8x, and every other disc become BAD.
With my Tyan motherboard I could burn 40X without problems on my Plextor and 2X on my Pioneer.
Have the latest BIOS and so on....
Spec:
Dual Athlon MP 2400
MSI KD7Master

How do I force DMA on my Plextor?
Please any sugestions?
