Adobe - how to 'splice'??

K I've got adobe premiere figured out.... but

how the do I 'splice a clip and insert one inside it??

i've been trying to figure it out, but most of the clips just insert sequentially. I want to cut a clip in half, and insert a new clip in between

Put the timeline where you want to split it, right click and razor that point!
