Playback problem of DVDR on standalone DVD player

I've had no problems recently with the actual process of backing up my DVD collection onto DVDR. I use the following method:
- DVDShrink to rip the entire disc to my harddrive
- DVDClone to select the titles wanted and to burn to DVDR

I use Imation DVDR media and have an AIWA standalone DVD player.

In the beginning I tested the DVDR movies I backed up in my DVD ROM and had no problems. I also tested them briefly in my AIWA DVD Player and had no problems with them loading and playing. I've watched one of these movies in full on my DVD ROM and had no problems. However, recently I tried to watch this movie in full on my AIWA player and every 30 seconds or so, or sometimes in random bursts the movie pauses for a second and then carries on. To watch an entire movie like this is very annoying. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong? I've tried two of my backed up DVDRs on the standalone player and they both do this. One slightly more often than the other.

Is this a problem due to the way I'm copying the DVD or is it just my AIWA Standalone DVD player not being able to handle DVDRs too good? Although, it seems to handle dual layer DVD movies with plenty of scratches on them without any problems.

and type in your standalone dvd player..find it if it can fully support DVD-Rs...and also about other user comments...

which brand DVD-R u using and how fast you burning them?? if you can, try burning at 1X and see if the problem goes away...otherwise, it should be fine if your dvd player supports DVD-R...

also, is there someone else's dvd player you can test the DVD-Rs on??

I have an AIWA XD-DV370. It does report back saying it plays DVD-R, DVD+R, etc..

I am not given the option of what speed to burn at when burning the movie contents in DVDclone. It appears to be burning closer to 1X and 2X, due to the time it takes (about 30 mins).

Anyone have any other ideas?

I will have to try other DVD-R media I suppose, but I've still got over 40 Imation DVD-R's left in my spindle =T
