  1. I HAVE BEEN USING THE TMPGEnc TO CONVERT AVI FILES TO MPG
FILES. IT SEEMS TO WORK FINE WITH THIS PROCESS. THEN
I USE CD CREATOR 5 PLATINUM TO MAKE A VCD FILE, WHICH ALSO
SEEMS TO WORK FINE. WHEN I PLAY THE VCD ON MY PHILIPS
DVD-711 PLAYER, WHICH IS VCD COMPATIBLE, IT WILL PLAY THE
FIRST 10 OR 15 SECONDS OF THE MOVIE THEN IT WILL START TO
ROLL THE PICTURE SIMILAR TO AN OLD ANTENNA STYLE TV.
CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM?

    THANK YOU

  2. This topic keeps coming back to life. You should really search the index first.

I have that DVD player, too. For me, it scrolled like that because the VCDs were PAL and my tv is NTSC. Even though the DVD player supports both, your TV may not. I had to re-encode the VCDs with TPMPGenc (with the correct template, NTSC-VCD in my case), after I captured the MPEG, of course.

    I hope this infor helps.
