Lookup CAM and Telesync in the glossary. You got me on the last one, but I don't download movies.
-
Cam - Movie shot in the cinema using a camera. Generally poor quality and seeing the sound is not direct such things as laughter and other audience noises can be heard. A 'subbed cam' will contain subtitles at the bottom of the picture.
Telesync - Movie shot in the cinema using a more high-end camera and involving a direct sound source (i.e headphone slots). Because of the direct sound source audience noise is eliminated. Also, the cammer (the guy with the camera) will generally use a tripod device to keep the picture more stable than that of a cam.
Esoteric (I believe that is what you are referring to, not Escotic) - They are a movie release group. Generally believed to be a sister group of the more famous TCF release group. They usually release limited run (only shown at a small amount of cinemas) movies and average quality telesyncs.
